Currently, the stream lists is ordered alphabetically. Given the amount of streams I am subscribed to, I usually need to scroll up and down to find that one that I need. Maybe we could add a feature to reorder the streams manually.
Good idea, a drag-and-drop solution would be nice here.
How much harder is it?
Maybe have a separate list of streams for most frequently visited streams?
It would be nice to have it, but I think it's adding to the complexity.
Or add an option to the gear next to "streams". Users could then select their preference of sorting.
I think having a seperate sorting for frequently visited would be nice.
I usually have a few pinned streams I use most frequently
and then use the filtering option for finding any streams I want to use that are not pinned
or the search bar directly, because it's easier to use
also, if a stream has been inactive for a long time, it will be grayed out and below active streams
a list of streams from my other realm

first pinned streams, then active streams (both including muted streams), and below those - inactive streams
having muted pinned streams somehow makes sense for me :)
the one disadvantage of frequently used streams I can think of is that the list could change a lot
and this could then make it harder to find the streams :)
Hm, those are good points. Is there already a doc on ordering Zulip streams that bundles all these features?
yeah it's hard to browse things that aren't sorted
I think it'd be great to have a "guide" type doc in the /help/ docs about how to combine these features well for organizing your left sidebar
I'll quickly create an issue for it.
I think inactive streams is the feature that's most confusing - it took me some time to figure out why some of my streams "don't work properly"
I just woke up but to this suggestion. Sounds like a great feature to me.
